Men's Basketball: Akinsanya, Harding, and Searcy commit to four years

Over 30 players, staff, and media attended men's basketball's first Zoom signing session of the year. Mayowa Akinsanya, Kyle Harding, and DJ Searcy were all honored as they discussed their recent commitments to four year universities. The trio was instrumental in the Bulldog's Sweet 16 performance this year. Akinsanya committed to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and signed during the zoom call. He earned All-Conference 1st team honors, netted 11 PPG, pulled in 5.1 RPG, and shot a team best 63% from the field. Harding, who signs with Fresno State, earned All-State and All-Conference 1st team honors as he picked up 13.6 PPG, shot 47.1% from the field and 40.5% from beyond the arc. Searcy decided to go back home to Fresno Pacific University and earned All-Conference honorable mentions as he picked up 7.9 PPG, 5.3 RPG, and shot 48.5% from the field this season.

Allan Hancock College Athletic Director Kim Ensing started off the call congradulating the program and players then handed over the introductions to Men's Basketball Head Coach Tyson Aye. He began with brief introductions of his players and had them explain their commitment decisions. Searcy reflected on how his coaches were there to help him learn and grow as a man. His decision to attend Fresno Pacific was greatly influenced by the support the University showed him and his family ties, his brother in particular. Akinsanya referenced his three years with the team and how he was able to learn a lot not only from coaches but his fellow teammates. He chose the University of Maryland Eastern Shore because its on the opposite side of the country and family ties. Harding who leaves for Fresno State after his freshman year thanked his coaches, teammates, and the Hancock family citing the dedication and time the program put into him. Media was given a block of time to ask their questions and at the end staff and teammates who know these players gave their thoughts and brief final statements. Watch the FULL video below:
