Bulldogs Open WSC Action with Win over Oxnard, Pierre-Louis Registers Tenth Double-Double

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team opened the Western State Conference slate of play with a 77-58 victory over Oxnard College at home on Saturday evening. | BOX SCORE

Teams exchanged baskets throughout the opening minutes of action until the eight-minute mark in the first half when a three-pointer from Vondre Chase gave the Bulldogs (11-6, 1-0 WSC) a lead that they would ride out to the end. As a team, Coach Aye's squad shot 47.4 percent from the field (30.4% 3PT) while limiting the visiting Condors (4-11, 0-2 WSC) to just 15 percent from long range. The home squad also led a hefty 44-19 advantage on the boards and had their best performance at the charity stripe after a 15-for-23 showing. 

Quincy Bentley led all scorers on the night and poured in 16 points after going 5-for-11 from the field and finishing with a perfect 4-for-4 showing at the charity stripe. Taevon Pierre-Louis registered 13 points and 12 rebounds en route to his 10th double-double of the season. Chase rounded out the double figure scorers with 13 points, followed by eight points and three steals apiece from Caleb Whalen and Onias Outlaw

The Bulldogs are set to continue conference action on Wednesday, January 11th, with a trip to Cuesta College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM in San Luis Obispo.
