Men's Basketball: Five Bulldogs Named to All-Conference List

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Five members of the Allan Hancock College men's basketball program have been recognized as postseason award winners in the North Division of the Western State Conference. | FULL LIST

Taevon Pierre-Louis, Quincy Bentley, Kevin Kogbara, and Vondre Chase headlined the list after being named as First Team All-Conference selections. Onias Outlaw rounded out the postseason award winners for the program after landing an Honorable Mention spot. 

Freshman forward Pierre-Louis started in all 29 of his appearances this season and led the Bulldogs with 16.0 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. The Ohio native registered six 20+ point showings en route to 17 double-doubles and one triple-double on the season. Pierre-Louis currently is near the top of the state leaderboard for three major rebounding categories: offensive rebounds (9th, 100); defensive rebounds (6th, 223); total rebounds (7th, 323). 

Bentley, a freshman sharpshooter for Hancock, closed the season with a 39.8 percent mark from distance while ranking 12th amongst CCCAA competitors after making 80 three-pointers. The Newbury Park graduate made 5+ shots from long range in six contests and earned 20 starts through 29 appearances. 

Kogbara, also a freshman forward, proved to be a critical piece off of the bench for Hancock after starting in just five of his 25 appearances. The Arizona native ranked led the program with 15 blocked shots and ranked second on the team with 5.5 rebounds per game. 

Chase, a sophomore guard from Massachusetts, led the team with an 80.6 percent finish at the charity stripe. The two-time All-Conference honoree, who also was a First Team selection as a freshman, closed the season with an average of 11.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. 

Outlaw earned 14 starts through 24 appearances after missing five games due to injury. The guard from Maryland closed his sophomore campaign with an average of 9.9 points and 2.5 assists per game while boasting a shooting percentage of 44.4 from the field. 

The Bulldogs closed the season with an overall record of 18-11 after dropping a heartbreaker against West LA College in the opening round of the Southern California Regional Tournament on February 22nd. Hancock fell in the 74-73 decision, despite shooting a red-hot 46.9 percent from the field and winning the rebounding battle at a 32-26 margin. Chase led all scorers on the night after pouring in 23 points, which included a 5-for-8 showing from distance, and snagging six rebounds. Outlaw also finished in double figures with a 15-point performance off of the bench, followed by eight points from Kogbara and seven from Pierre-Louis. Pierre-Louis grabbed a team-best of eight rebounds while also tacking on two assists, two steals, and one block. | BOX SCORE
