Men's Basketball Sinks Pirates, 76-62

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball picked up a second consecutive non-conference victory on Thursday evening inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium after defeating Porterville College, 76-62. | BOX SCORE

The two programs exchanged baskets during the opening minutes of play before a jumper from Mylo Santos with 18 minutes remaining gave the Bulldogs (6-4) a lead that they would ride out to the end. Coach Aye's squad closed the contest with a red-hot mark of 50.9 percent from the floor and won the rebounding battle, 35-29. The home crew also forced 20 turnovers for the Pirates (5-6) that were converted for 26 points on the opposite end. 

Hancock had a balanced offensive performance with just two members posting double figure finishes. Santos led all scorers on the night with 22 points after a 7-for-10 performance from the field and a 7-for-9 finish at the charity stripe. He was also tops for the team with five assists and four steals. Noah Haaland followed with 10 points off of the bench, while Jaren Johnson snagged a team-high of seven rebounds. 

The Bulldogs will hit the road for the Coach Carr Classic at San Jose City College next week. They'll open the three-day event against Ohlone College on December 14th before facing off against Siskiyous College (Dec. 15) and Monterey Peninsula College (Dec. 16).
