Men's Basketball Closes Non-Conference Slate with 2OT Win at Citrus

GLENDORA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team rounded out the non-conference slate with a thrilling 86-74 win in double overtime at Citrus College on Friday evening. This marks the eighth consecutive victory for the program, dating back to the start of the streak in early December. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (12-4) trailed by three at the intermission but overcame the deficit in the second half to force the overtime period. The two programs registered five points apiece in the first overtime period before Hancock got hot in the second frame of added time. The visiting crew pulled away after going on an 8-0 run, sparked by a put-back from Assad Madassalia, before eventually outscoring Citrus (9-5) by 12 to secure the victory.

As a team, Hancock dominated inside with a hefty 65-37 advantage on the boards over the Owls and scored 50 points in the paint. Mylo Santos led all scorers with a 26-point performance, followed by 19 from Madassalia. Taevon Pierre-Louis notched his fourth double-double of the season after pulling down 22 rebounds and adding 14 points. Jeremyah Aquino rounded out the top scorers for Coach Aye's squad with 10 points off of the bench. 

The Bulldogs are set to open the Western State Conference (North) slate on Saturday, January 13th, at Oxnard College.
