Men's Basketball Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team stretched the active win streak to 13 with a decisive 90-53 road victory at Santa Barbara City College on Saturday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

The hosting Vaqueros (7-14, 1-4) built their largest lead of the night in the opening five minutes of play after sinking a three-pointer en route to a five-point advantage. Hancock (17-4, 5-0) cut the deficit over the next three minutes before a layup from Mylo Santos gave the team a lead that they would ride through to the end. The Bulldogs held SBCC to just 10 points through the final 10 minutes of the opening half en route to a 47-29 advantage at the intermission. Coach Aye's crew cruised to victory in the second half after posting a red-hot 68.0 shooting percentage from the field while outscoring the hosts, 43-24.

Hancock put up 52 points in the paint while also seeing the bench match that number in reserve scoring. Santos led the way with 16 tallies, followed by 15 from Noah Haaland and a career-high of 12 from Messiah Darden-Bright. Assad Madassalia rounded out the top scorers with 10 points to go along with a matched season-high total of five blocks. 

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action with a home contest versus Ventura College on Wednesday, January 31st, at 5 PM during the inaugural Hometown Heroes Night.
