Men's Basketball: Bulldogs Knock Off Oxnard, 80-63

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team topped Oxnard College at home on Wednesday evening in an 80-63 decision. This marks the program's 15th consecutive victory as the team remains unscathed in league play with a 7-0 mark against Western State Conference (North) foes thus far. | BOX SCORE

The start of the game appeared to be a back-and-forth battle after the two teams saw six lead changes and four ties in the first 15 minutes of play. A three-pointer from River Ortiz with five minutes to go sparked a 13-0 streak that led to an 11-point advantage for the Bulldogs (19-4, 7-0) at the intermission. The home squad closed out the game with another six-point difference over the Condors (3-17, 2-6) in the second half. 

Hancock was red-hot from the field after posting a 66.0 shooting percentage from the floor and a 46.2 percent mark from distance. They also outrebounded Oxnard, 38-20, while registering 52 points in the paint and scoring 20 points off of 16 OC turnovers. 

Mylo Santos was tops for the team with 21 points after a 9-for-10 finish from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 showing at the charity stripe. Ortiz was also a double digit scoring with 10 points off of the bench while Taevon Pierre-Louis posted a pair of team-high numbers with 10 rebounds and five assists. Assad Madassalia rounded out the top performers with a career-high tally of nine blocks to go along with eight points and seven assists. 

The Bulldogs are set to continue league play on the road at Cuesta College on Saturday, February 10th.
