Men's Basketball to Host Round One of SoCal Regional Tournament

The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team has been selected as the No. 10 seed in the 2024 Southern California Regional Tournament and will host the first round on Wednesday, February 28th. This marks the second consecutive playoff birth for the Bulldogs and the fifth for the program in six seasons. They will host No. 23 Antelope Valley College who finished tied for fourth in the WSC South with a record of 8-6 after taking one game from each of the Co-Champions in Citrus College at West LA College. | FULL BRACKET

The Bulldogs (22-6, 10-2) finished the regular season in second place in the Western State Conference (North) league standings after suffering a 66-62 loss at Ventura College (15-13, 8-4) on Friday evening. Hancock opened the second half with an 11-0 run after trailing by one at the intermission, but VC cut the deficit to five just two minutes later. Coach Aye's squad built the lead back up to double digits by the midway point, but the hosting Pirates used a 12-0 run to get back in the game. The score was tied at 60-60 with under three minutes remaining before VC sealed the deal with a tip-in, a dunk, and a pair of free throws down the stretch. Mylo Santos led the way for AHC with 16 points, followed by Taevon Pierre-Louis (13) and Jeremyah Aquino (11).

The AHC/AVC contest will tipoff at 5:30 PM inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium in Santa Maria. Tickets are currently available for purchase on the ahcbulldogs.com/ticketing website or can be purchased at the ticketing gate with a debit or credit card. Per the 3C2A guidelines, ticket prices are as follows: Adults - $12, Students - $8, Senior Citizens - $8, and Children (6+) - $8. Children under the age of six receive free admission. Please note that the ticketing gate is cashless and that season and/or conference passes are not valid for postseason events. Animals, other than service animals, are not permitted at the venue.

The winner of Wednesday's contest will advance to round two and will face No. 7-seeded Santiago Canyon on Saturday, March 2nd.
