Next Level: Taevon Pierre-Louis Commits to Dominican University
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Allan Hancock College men's basketball standout, Taevon Pierre-Louis, has committed to continue his academic and athletic career next season at Dominican University next season.
"I chose Dominican University because out of every school that's been recruiting me, they've shown the most love consistently throughout the process. It feels great to know that I'm going to a school where I'm wanted," Pierre-Louis shared.
Pierre-Louis spent two seasons on the court for the Bulldogs while working towards a highly decorated junior college career. The native of Ohio was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection and picked up an All-State Honorable Mention nod last year. This season, Pierre-Louis averaged 11.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while scoring 15+ points in 11 contests. His rebounding average ranked him fifth in the league while his final season total of 249 boards was tops for the team. As a freshman, Pierre-Louis made waves after notching six 20+ point showings en route to 17 double-doubles and one triple-double on the season.
"Something I learned at Allan Hancock is to control what I can control, which is my attitude and my effort. This is something that helped me both on and off the court during my time here," Pierre-Louis added. "Regardless of what I'm going through, I think of that and it keeps me level-headed to get through whatever is going on."
The Penguins are a Division II member of the NCAA and compete in the PacWest Conference.
