Teams traded baskets throughout the night with 11 ties and six lead changes taking place throughout regulation. The hosting Brahmas (8-9, 1-0 WSC) led by two points at the end of regulation, but Arlind Konjuhi made a last-second layup to force the first overtime period. Trenten Lavender came through for the Bulldogs (12-7, 2-1 WSC) before time expired with a made layup attempt that forced the second overtime scenario. Coach Aye's squad trailed for most of the fourth frame before Owen Ubaldo knotted the score with 13 seconds remaining, but Pierce got the final say with a last-second jumper before time expired to secure the win.
Hancock battled through a cold shooting night that saw a season-low finish of less than 30 percent from the floor and a 4-for-27 mark from distance. The visiting squad did see some positives inside with a +4 finish on the boards and 26 points in the paint. AHC also managed to convert 23 points off of 22 turnovers by the Brahmas.
Lavender led the way for the Bulldogs in three categories after registering 13 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. He was followed by Konjuhi and Obaldo who notched 12 points apiece.
AHC will resume conference play on Saturday, January 18th, as they hit the road to face-off against Moorpark College.
