
Men's Basketball Avenges Previous Loss Against Pierce, 63-50
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team used a strong second-half surge to defeat LA Pierce College 63-50 in a conference matchup on Saturday. With the win, Hancock improved to 16-9 overall (6-3 WSC), while Pierce fell to 10-13 (3-4 WSC). | BOX SCORE
The game remained competitive throughout the first half, with the Bulldogs holding a slim 27-24 lead at the break. However, Coach Aye's crew dominated the second half after outscoring the visiting Brahmas by ten behind a balanced offensive attack and relentless rebounding.
The home squad won the rebounding battle 41-21, including 13 offensive boards that led to 14 second-chance points. They also showcased clutch free throw shooting making 20-of-24 (83.3%), compared to just 8 attempts for LA Pierce.
Trenten Lavender led the way for Hancock with 18 points off the bench, hitting 4-of-7 from three-point range, in his first game back since January 18th. Ay-Keen Richardson had an all-around performance with 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Noah Morris was dominant inside, registering 11 rebounds along with seven points and two blocks.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, February 11th, at home against Moorpark College for the annual Coaches VS Cancer event.
