
Men's Basketball Pulls Away in Second Half for Statement Win Over Moorpark
SANTA MARIA, Calif. — The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team put together a dominant second-half performance to secure an 83-64 victory over Moorpark College in a key conference matchup on Wednesday night. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs (17-9, 7-3 WSC) took control early, jumping out to a 34-24 halftime lead with a strong defensive effort. They then erupted for 49 second-half points to seal the victory, shooting an impressive 52.4% from the field.
Ay-Keen Richardson led the charge for Allan Hancock, delivering a game-high 21 points while adding nine rebounds. Owen Ubaldo recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Arlind Konjuhi contributed 13 points and three assists. The Bulldogs controlled the glass, out-rebounding the Raiders (18-8, 8-2 WSC) 45-20 and dominating the paint with 48 points inside.
Despite a strong second-half showing, Moorpark struggled to keep pace after committing 17 turnovers and posting a 38.6 percent finish from the floor. AHC managed to capitalize on second-chance opportunities (14 points) and their deep bench production (24 points) proved to be the difference. The Bulldogs built their largest lead of 20 points late in the second half and never looked back.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Saturday, February 15th, on the road at Santa Barbara City College.
