
Six Named on All-Conference List for Men's Basketball; Richardson Tabbed as Defensive Player of the Year
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Six members of the Allan Hancock College men's basketball program have been recognized as postseason award winners in the North Division of the Western State Conference. The Bulldogs wrapped up regular season action wtih an overall record of 19-9 while going 9-3 against conference foes for a second place finish in the standings. | FULL LIST
Ay-Keen Richardson headlined the list after being named as the league's Defensive Player of the Year along with receiving a First Team All-Conference nod. The sophomore from Germany becomes the first to receive the defensive superlative since JT Riddick in 2019. He led the Bulldogs with 358 points throughout the regular season with a team-best of 47 made shots from distance. Richardson has totaled 16 steals, 12 blocks, and 72 defensive rebounds on the season while locking down some of the league's top offensive scorers.
Trenten Lavender and Arlind Konjuhi also received First Team All-Conference recognition.
Lavender averaged 10.8 points and 3.0 assists per game after appearing in 20 contests. The freshman from Arizona notched a season-high of 22 points in the road victory at Oxnard in January and registered four made three-pointers in three different contests.
Konjuhi has averaged 10.0 points, 1.5 assists, and 1.4 steals through games after 28 appearances. He ranked second on the team with 41 made three-pointers and snagged a team-best mark of 38 steals.
Owen Ubaldo, Noah Morris, and Jordan Kamga rounded out the honorees as All-Conference Honorable Mention selections.
The No. 14-seeded Bulldogs are set to host No. 19 Santa Ana College in round one of the 2025 Southern California Regional Tournament on Wednesday, February 26th, at 6 PM inside the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
Tickets are currently available for purchase on the ahcbulldogs.com/ticketing website or can be purchased at the ticketing gate with a debit or credit card. Per the 3C2A guidelines, ticket prices are as follows: Adults - $12, Students - $8, Senior Citizens - $8, and Children (6+) - $8. Children under the age of six receive free admission. Please note that the ticketing gate is cashless and that season and/or conference passes are not valid for postseason events. Animals, other than service animals, are not permitted at the venue.
The winner of Wednesday's contest will advance to round two and will face No. 3-seeded East LA College on Saturday, March 1st.
