Nicolini Fires a 78 to Lead Bulldogs in WSC Tournament #4

Alejandro Nicolini fired a six-over 78 to lead the Allan Hancock College men's golf team during the fourth Western State Conference tournament of the season on Monday. The Bulldogs finished in seventh place with a combined score of 409 after 18 holes at the River Ridge Country Club in Oxnard.

Sophomore Shawn Brackett carded a seven-over 79, while Justin Roxbrough finished with an 80. Triston Ioppini scored an 82, while Robert Zimkowksi shot an 18-over 90.

Santa Barbara City College won its first conference tournament of the season with a total score of 369. The Vaqueros edged College of the Canyons by one stroke. Host Ventura finished in third (375), followed by Glendale (386), Bakersfield and Citrus (399). Antelope Valley finished eighth with a total score of 416.

SBCC's Brett Patton earned individual medalist honors with a two-under 70. SBCC's Jonny Hogan and Emil Ozeke finished second overall with one-under 71s.

After four conference tournaments, Canyons sits in first place at 27-1, followed by SBCC at28-3, and Glendale at 16-12. Hancock is in sixth place at 6-22, ahead of Bakersfield (5-23) and Antelope Valley (4-26).

The Bulldogs' next conference tournament will be Monday, March 23 at the Antelope Valley Country Club.
