Nicolini Fires One-Over Par to Tie for Sixth, Bulldogs Finish Sixth at WSC#7

Alejandro Nicolini fired a one-over par 73 to help the Allan Hancock College men's golf team to a sixth place finish at the seventh Western State Conference tournament of the season on Monday. Citrus College hosted the eight-team tournament at the San Dimas Canyon Golf Course in San Dimas.

The Bulldogs finished with a total score of 394. Nicolini, a sophomore, finished sixth in the individual standings with his 73. Freshman Robert Zimkowski shot a six-over 78, followed by Shawn Brackett with a 79, while Triston Ioppini and Justin Roxbrough carded 82s.

Santa Barbara City College won the tournament with a team score of 362. Three SBCC golfers, Jonny Hogan, Manny Mazone and Joakim Flinck, were part of a four-way tie for first with one-under 71s. Glendale's Robert Eyvazzdeh also fired a 71.

Citrus finished second in the team standings with a 376, followed by Caynons at 377, Glendale with 384, Ventura with 390, and Hancock. Antelope Valley finished in seventh with a total score of 399, while Bakersfield finished eighth with 432 strokes.

After seven tournament, Canyons leads the team standings with a 46-3 record, while Santa Barbara sits in second at 43-6. Ventura (29-20), Glendale (23-26), Citrus (21-28), Antelope Valley (15-34), Hancock (14-35), and Bakersfield (5-44) round out the rest of the conference standings.

The next tournament is on Monday, April 13, when Glendale hosts the conference at the Oakmont Country Club.
