Nicolini and Zimkowski Pace Bulldogs to 5th Place Finish on Home Course

Alejandro Nicolini and Robert Zimkowski shot four-over par 76s to lead the Allan Hancock College men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the sixth Western State Conference tournament of the season. The Bulldogs hosted the tournament at the Santa Maria Country Club on Monday.

The Bulldogs finished in fifth place with a combined score of 384. College of the Canyons edged Santa Barbara City College by one stroke to win the tournament, 368 to 369. Ventura finished third at 382, followed by Antelope Valley in fourth with a 384. Hancock finished ahead of Citrus (385), Glendale (385), and Bakersfield (402).

Sophomores Triston Ioppini and Justin Roxbrough carded five-over 77s, while Shawn Brackett fired a 78.

Nicolini and Zimkowski tied for 14th place in the individual standings. Santa Barbara's Jake Ledbetter earned individual medalist honors with a four-under 68.
