Swimming Continues Action at Bakersfield Tri-Meet

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's and women's swim teams continued competition in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Bakersfield College. | FULL RESULTS

Lizzie Hernandez led the way for the women's program after securing a top finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.24) and a runner-up mark in the 200-yard individual medley (2:26.29). Jamielynn Allen also had a day with a 2nd place slot in the 200-yard freestyle (2:15.90) and a 3rd place performance in the 500-yard freestyle (6:18.80). Julia Zimsen rounded out the top performers with a 3rd place finish in the 100-yard butterfly after turning in a time of 1:08.80.

Max Pecile headlined the men's squad with a 1st place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:54.52) and a 2nd place performance in the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.58). Blake Simpson and Jarred Torres each added nine individual points after they both recorded a 2nd place and a 3rd place finish. Simpson's top performance came by way of a runner-up finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:40.50), while Torres earned a 2nd place spot in the 100-yard freestyle (50.90).

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Thursday, April 21st, for day one of the Western State Conference Championship event. The three-day meet is set to take place at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
