Hancock Track Athletes Start Season at the Top of the Pack
The Bulldog track team is taking a break from conference track meets after returning from the Western State Conference Relays in Ventura with top placing in multiple events.
Jay-Ar Agapay (Maui, HI), a freshman from Hawaii, placed first in the high jump at the WSC relays with a jump of 6’ 2”. The week before that he placed fifth at Cerritos, in a highly competitive field that included Mt. Sac, Saddleback, El Camino and other top schools in track and field. Agapay was recently named athlete of the week by the Northern Santa Barbara County Roundtable.
Douglas Webb (Ocala, FL), a red shirt on the football team this last season, placed second in the long jump in Ventura (6.57 m) and seventh in the triple jump (13.09m). He also placed fifth at the Cerritos meet the weekend before that in the long jump. Webb is from Ocala, Florida.
