Bulldogs Enjoy Strong Performances at Easter Relays
A third place finish in the 4x100 meter relay and top five finishes from Kenji Conaway, Elijah Holt, Steven DeComarmond, Bruce Detter and Eric Grant were among the highlights for the Allan Hancock College men's track and field team during the Easter Relays at Santa Barbara City College on Friday.
No team scores were compiled during the all-day meet.
Conaway, an Arroyo Grande High School graduate, finished fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.17. The sophomore also finished seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.70 meters.
Holt, a freshman, finished third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.38 seconds. The Arroyo Grande High School graduate finished behind two collegiate runners from Japan. DeComarmond finished fifth in the race with a time of 15.86 seconds.
Grant, a freshman and Righetti High School graduate, finished fourth in the long jump at 5.95 meters and 15th in the 100 meter dash (11.45 seconds).
The Bulldogs were also led by Detter, a Pioneer Valley High School graduate. The sophomore placed fourth in the discus (38.59 meters), sixth in the hammer throw (32.54 m) and eighth in the shot put (11.15 m).
The men return to action on Friday, March 28, when Cuesta College hosts the Western State Conference Coastal Meet.
