McDonald ran middle and long distance events last season for the Bulldogs. His top time in the 1,500 meters was 4:47.46, in the 3,000 m it was 11:16.72, and he was clocked in 18:48.68 in the 5,000 m. He ran cross country and track, as well as played tennis at Santa Ynez High School. He is a recreation management major.
