Track & Field Continues Season at WSC Relays

LANCASTER, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field program continued the season by competing at the Western State Conference Relays on Friday afternoon, hosted on the campus of Antelope Valley College | FULL RESULTS

Reann Booker headlined the day for the women's team with a top mark in the 200m race after clocking a time of 26.54, followed by a 4th place finish in the same event from teammate Kiana San Juan (28.62). The women's sprint medley team secured a 2nd place nod after posting a time of 4:49.84 with Booker, Lilianna Soto, San Juan, and Sierra Skinner competing in each leg. Soto also finished the day with a 4th place finish in the javelin throw after a 22.81-meter heave. 

The men's program narrowly missed out on a top-finish sweep in the 200m dash after Jayson Garcia (23.66), Hunter Cargill (24.08), and Dior Kennedy (24.77) secured slots 2-4. Syre' Lewis, Ramses Valencia, Avery Fondern, and Jaleel Walker raced as members of the 4x100m relay team and earned a runner-up finish after turning in a final time of 42.97. The sprint medley squad, which consisted of the same four runners in a different order, also secured a 2nd place finish after clocking a time of 1:36.37. Osirus Smith joined Walker, Lewis, and Valencia for the 4x200m relay event and earned a 3rd place nod after posting a 1:31.58 time. Jordan Smith shined in the field events with a 2nd place mark in the long jump (6.06m) and a 4th place finish in the triple jump (11.94m). 

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, February 25th, at the WSC North Meet. The event will be hosted by Bakersfield College.
