Track & Field to Send Seven Individuals to SoCal Regional Prelims

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field programs will be represented by seven individuals in seven events at the 2023 Southern California Regional Prelims & Finals, beginning with day one on May 5th. The event will be hosted by the Pacific Coast Conference on the San Diego Mesa College campus. | QUALIFIERS / MEET INFO

On the women's side, Reann Booker and Itandehui Olea are scheduled to compete in three races. Booker will appear in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, which will see the top three finishers in each heat automatically advancing to the finals. Olea is set to race in the 1,500-meter run, which will move the top six finishers from each heat to the finals. 

The men's program will see four athletes compete in three field events at the meet. Jordan Smith and Nasim Moody will both appear in the men's long jump on Friday morning before Smith wraps up his prelim showing in the triple jump that afternoon. The top 12 finishers from each event will advance to the finals next weekend. Caleb Gretlein is scheduled to appear in the hammer throw this weekend, which will feature both the prelims and final competition on Friday morning, while Cesar Ruiz will compete in the discus prelim and final competitions at the SoCal Regional Finals. 

Qualifiers for the Southern California Regional Finals will return to the San Diego Mesa College campus on May 12th.
