Track & Field Picks Up Two Individual Titles at WSC Finals

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field programs continued a successful season at the Western State Conference Finals in Bakersfield on Friday afternoon. | FULL RESULTS

The Bulldogs closed the weekend with two new individual conference champions while seeing several athletes advance to the next stage after finishing in the top seven for their respective events. The top three finishers for each event earned First Team All-Conference recognition while those in 4th-6th place were Second Team All-Conference and individuals landing at 7th-9th were All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Itandehui Olea led the women's program with a first place finish in the 5k race after clocking a final time of 19:07.62. She also finished in third in both the 800m and 1,500m races. India Dowling-Green secured a pair of 3rd place finishes in the 100m and 200m sprint races and in one relay. She was joined by Kiana San Juan, Emily Carpenter, and Belinda Hernandez in the 4x100m relay. San Juan and Carpenter also served roles in the 3rd place performance of the 4x400m relay along with Eva Luu and Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez. The women's team finished in fifth place overall through the field of 11 scoring programs. 

Nasim Moody headlined the day for the men with a championship finish in the triple jump after a leap of 13.14 meters. He scored 18 of the team's 27 total points en route to a 10th place performance as a program. 

Qualifying individuals will advance to the SoCal Prelims event, hosted at Cerritos College, on May 3rd.
