Track & Field Continues at Moorpark Open
MOORPARK, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field teams saw a series of solid performances while competing at the annual Moorpark Open event on Friday. The invitational event was one of the largest this season that the Hancock squad as seen thus far, with nearly a dozen teams on full display.
Makayla Gonzalez headlined the women's side with a first place finish in steeplechase (12:29.90), followed closely by fellow Bulldog Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez who placed third (13:21.78). Abigail Aponte continued to showcase her consistency in the throwing realm with another runner-up finish in the shot put (9.52m).
Erick Marceleno highlighted the men's squad with a third place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase race (10:23.78), while Esequiel Gauna took third in the shot put (12.72m).
The Bulldogs will take one week off before returning to action on Friday, April 18th, at the Western State Conference (WSC) Prelims in Ventura.
