Track & Field Picks Up Two WSC Superlative Awards
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field programs wrapped up the 2025 campaign with a pair of superlative awards following the final conference coaches' meeting of the season.
Jacob Garbiso, a standout freshman thrower for the Bulldogs, ended his breakout campaign by receiving the Western State Conference (WSC) Men's Field Athlete of the Year award. The Arroyo Grande native took 7th place in shot put at the 3C2A State Championship earlier this month - earning Second Team All-State recognition - and secured three individual WSC titles in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw.
Cesar Ruiz, a new addition to the coaching staff this season and a former AHC student-athlete, was selected by his peers as the WSC Men's Assistant Coach of the Year. Ruiz oversaw the throwing unit for Hancock, which proved to be a dominant force throughout the season after combining to collect 34 top-three finishes across the four throwing events.
