Cross Country Competes at Pirate Invitational, Olea Takes First in Season Debut
VENTURA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's and women's cross country teams continued action by competing in the Pirate Invitational, hosted at the Arroyo Verde Park, on Friday. | COMPLETE RESULTS
After missing the season opener, Itandehui Olea highlighted the day for the women's program with a top finish after posting a final time of 20:29.81 in her 2024 debut. Eva Luu (21:27.42) and Makayla Gonzalez (22:28.07) also earned top-10 finishes after placing fifth and seventh, respectively. As a team, the women took second out of three scoring programs after finishing in between De Azna and Bakersfield.
On the men's side, John Gutierrez led the way with a second place performance after clocking 21:37.93. Teammate Erick Marceleno followed with a time of 22:43.28 en route to a seventh place nod. The team landed in fifth out of six scoring programs by edging out Citrus.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, September 6th, by competing in the Crush Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno.
