Softball Look to Improve to 3-4 Against Mt. San Jacinto

    After a 10-11 and 3-7 double loss to Taft College on Tuesday, Feb. 22 the Allan Hancock College softball team moved to 2-4 in pre-season play. Hancock led Taft 3-0 in the third inning and 5-3 at the end of the fifht, but Taft came back with five runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to take the win 11-10. Ashley Spencer (Pioneer Valley) had four hits in five at-bats and scored one run for the Bulldogs. Sadie DeQuattro (Paso Robles)had three hits in four at-bats, two RBI's and one run. Amanda Gonzales (Pioneer Valley), Britany Matlock (Walnut) and Aimee Camacho (Righetti) each scored two runs and Caitlin Voss (St. Joseph)and Deja Camacho (Santa Maria)each scored one. Matlock pitched six innings and was relieved by Spencer.

In the team's second game against Taft, the Bulldogs were trailing 1-2 at the bottom of the fifth. Hancock scored two runs in the top of the sixth, but Taft answered with five of their own. Matlock pitched the entire game and had two runs, one hit and one RBI. DeQuattro had one hit and two RBI's in one at-bat and Deja Camacho scored one run.

The Bulldogs look to improve their record against Mt. San Jacinto at home at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.
