Softball Slides Into Second Place In Conference

            The Allan Hancock College softball team has moved into second place in the Western State Conference Gold division after beating Los Angeles Pierce in their first conference doubleheader. The Bulldogs are now 2-0 in conference and 6-6 overall.
            The score was 7-4 in game one, with Caitlin Voss going two for four with three RBI singles and a triple. Voss, Britany Matlock, Deja Camacho, Sadie DeQuattro, Salena Hernandez and Amanda Gonzales scored a run apiece and Matlock pitched seven innings for the win.
            The Bulldogs continued to do well at the plate in game two.  Voss was four for four with three doubles and five RBI’s. Jackie Martinez was three for three at the plate and Matlock was two for three with a homerun in the fourth and three RBI’s. The Bulldogs scored 13 of their 16 runs in the fourth inning for a final score of 16-1.
            The softball team plays their next conference doubleheader at home against Cuesta college on Thursday, March 17 a 1 p.m.
