Softball Team Crushes Pierce College in Doubleheader

    The Allan Hancock College softball team has improved to 7-9 overall and 2-1 in conference play after beating Pierce College 9-1 and 17-4 in a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 13. 

    Freshman Ashley Spencer (Pioneer Valley) pitched both wins for the Bulldogs.  Spencer had two hits one RBI and scored two runs in four at-bats. Amanda Leake (Cabrillo) had two hits, two RBI's and scored two runs in four at-bats. Mariah Vargas (Arroyo Grande) had two runs, one hit and two RBI's and Alyssa Abayari (Cabrillo), Caitlin Voss (St. Joseph) and Marissa Perez (Righetti) each scored one run. 

    In the second game, Voss led with two runs, three hits and 3 RBI's. She is the conference leader in RBI's with 32 so far this season. Mercedes Ruiz (Santa Maria), Spencer, Abayari, Vargas, Tessa Underwood (Nipomo) and Perez each scored two runs in the second game. Leake, Celina Castillo (Cabrillo) and Jacqueline Martinez (Righetti) scored one run each.
