Hancock Softball Sweeps Oxnard in Doubleheader
The Allan Hancock College softball team has solidified their second place ranking in the Western State Conference with a sweep of Oxnard College at home on Tuesday, March 27.
Sophomore Caitlin Voss (St. Joseph) started off the first game with a solo home run in the first inning. Amanda Leake (Cabrillo) pitcheda three-hit complete games in the opener, which was tied at 1-1 till the sixth inning when Tessa Underwood (Nipomo) hit an RBI double and Leake hit a RBI single for a final score of 3-1.
In the second game Ashley Spencer (Pioneer Valley) started at pitcher. She hit three doubles and had four RBI's. and was relieved by Underwood who also hit a double and had a solo home run. The Bulldogs beat Oxnard in the second game 11-8.
Hancock plays at home again on Thursday, March 29 against Moorpark College. The game starts at 2:30 p.m.
