Five Softball Players Named All-Conference, Caitlin Voss Signs With UC Davis

Five Allan Hancock College softball players were named All-Conference for the 2012 season and sophomore Caitlin Voss (St. Joseph) was named All-SoCal for her efforts at catcher for the Bulldogs. Voss has accepted a scholarship offer from California State University Davis.

"Caitlin had a fantastic season. She has been a pleasure to work with and will do well at UC Davis in the Fall," said Hancock head softball coach Scia Maumausolo.

Voss finished the season with 12 homeruns and 55 RBI's.  She was a first team All-Conference selection along with Moriah Vargas (Arroyo Grande) and Ashley Spencer (Pioneer Valley). Vargas scored 24 runs and had 43 hits in 114 at bats. Spencer led the team in batting with a .423 average. She scored 42 runs and had 52 hits and 18 doubles.  Both Vargas and Spencer will be returning next season to serve as co-captains for the Bulldogs.

"Mo was a consistent force for us all season and we are expecting great things from her and Ashley was a threat on the mound and dangerous at the plate all year long," Maumausolo said.

Freshmen Marissa Perez (Righetti) and Tessa Underwood (Nipomo) were both named honorable mention All-Conference selections.
