Gantt Homers Twice, Bulldogs Blank Napa 19-0 in Five Innings

Emily Gantt clubbed two home runs and drove in four and Maggie Dasis had four hits to help the Allan Hancock College softball team rout Napa 19-0 in five innings on Saturday. The Bulldogs scored early and often on their way to their second straight win.

Hancock scored twice in the second, three in the second, four times in the third, two more in the fourth and eight in the fifth.

Becca Bramblage earned the win with four shutout innings scattering two hits. Shannon Peterson allowed one hit in the fifth.

Four Bulldogs had multiple hits and eight players had at least one in the victory. Gantt went two for three with two walks, two runs and 4 RBI. Shortstop Larrissa Ostrander had two hits, both doubles, and drove in three. Sophomore catcher Monique Hoobery went two for three, including a triple, with four runs and 2 RBI. Micalah Herrigal had 3 RBI.

Hancock improved to 5-2-1. The Bulldogs will play Grossmont at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
