Killough Throws Shutout, Morales and Partida Drive in Two Apiece in Hancock's 6-0 Win at No. 10 College of the Sequoias

Myranda Morales and Isabella Partida had two hits and 2 RBI each, and Bailey Killough threw a four-hit shutout to lead the Allan Hancock College softball team to a 6-0 win at College of the Sequoias on Saturday. Hancock improved to 19-10 overall. COS, the No. 10 ranked team in the North Region, fell to 21-9.

Hancock went right to work in the top of the first. Partida singled and stole second. Maggie Dasis walked. After Partida stole third and Dasis stole second, Morales answered with a two-run single to give Hancock the lead for good.

Larrissa Ostrander hit a sacrifice fly to right field in the second allowing Nakaila Fuggs to tag up and score to give Hancock a 3-0 lead.  In the third, Killough helped her own cause with a RBI-groundball to make it a 4-0 game.

The Bulldogs added their final two runs in the fourth when Partida laced a two-run single to drive in Fuggs and Christabel Chavez.

Partida went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and four stolen bases. Morales was 2-for-4 with two runs drive in, while Fuggs went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Hancock finished with eight hits and nine stolen bases.

Killough scattered four hits and walked three in seven innings of work. The freshman struck out five to pick up her 13th win of the season.

Hancock will resume Western State Conference play Tuesday, April 4, at home with a doubleheader against Santa Monica.  The games are set to begin at 1 and 3 p.m.  Santa Monica is 1-12 in league. Hancock is 10-2 in conference and in first place by half a game over Ventura and one game over Bakersfield.
