Gamble Named as Northern Santa Barbara County Female Athlete of the Week

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College catcher, Madison Gamble, was recognized as the Northern Santa Barbara County Female Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.

The Santa Maria native has enjoyed a stellar freshman campaign behind the plate this season. Last week, Gamble boasted a 9-for-14 showing at the plate while totaling five runs and two RBIs en route to three victories. She boasts an overall batting average of .418 to go along with a .512 on-base percentage and a .597 slugging percentage mark. Gamble has also totaled 13 RBIs and eight doubles on 29 hits through 23 games. As a team, Hancock currently holds an overall record of 14-9 on the season and is 3-1 in conference play.

Gamble and the Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, March 31st, for a Western State Conference showdown at Moorpark College.
