Coria Spoils No-Hitter as Softball is Blanked in Loss to Ventura

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Offensive production for the Allan Hancock College softball program faltered on Thursday after the team suffered a 9-0 loss at home against the Ventura College Pirates. | BOX SCORE

The Pirates (24-11, 7-1 WSC) opened the game with an early run in the first inning after a double down the rightfield line. Both teams were scoreless through the next three frames before Ventura caught fire with a five-run rally in the fifth and a three-run string in the sixth. Lisette Coria led the Bulldogs (15-11, 4-3 WSC) with the only hit of the game after registering a single in the final inning, while Alyssa Jones and Antoinette Terrones were each walked once. 

Briana Munoz (7-5) was charged with the loss in the circle after tossing a complete game. She surrendered six earned runs and scattered 12 hits while walking one batter through six innings of work. 

The Bulldogs will be back in action at home on Saturday, April 9th, with a doubleheader showing against LA Mission College. The first game is set to begin at 12 PM on the AHC Softball Field.
