Softball Places Eight on WSC All-Conference List

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - After battling through the first full season since 2019, the Allan Hancock College softball program had eight players recognized as all-conference selections for the north division of the Western State Conference.

Abigail Salazar, Briana Munoz, and Xchelle Glidewell headlined the list after collecting First Team All-Conference honors.

Salazar led the program this season with a .404 batting while registering 23 RBIs on 46 hits. She finished second on the team with 13 stolen bases and recorded a .960 fielding percentage after 149 attempts.

Munoz led the squad in the circle after recording nine wins through 18 complete games. She struck out 59 batters on the season and earned a 4.62 ERA after tossing 119.2 innings. At the plate, Munoz ranked second on the team with a .398 batting average while posting a team-best mark of 39 RBIs this season. 

X. Glidewell also tallied nine wins on the rubber and twirled six complete games. She finished the season with a 6.87 ERA and struck out 22 batters after 69.1 innings of work. X. Glidewell also closed her freshman campaign with a .366 batting average while recording 23 RBIs and 12 doubles on 34 hits.

Mya Mendoza, Madison Gamble, and Antoinette Terrones were tabbed as Second Team All-Conference selections.

Mendoza led the program in both slugging percentage (.708) and stolen bases (15) en route to a .363 batting average after notching 10 homers during her freshman campaign. She also finished the season with a .838 fielding percentage after working as a third base and as the shortstop. 

Gamble closed the season with a .385 batting average, ranking her third on the team, and 21 RBIs after 40 hits. She also led the way for the Bulldogs with 13 doubles, while also recording one triple and one home run. She also caught six runners attempting steals and allowed just three passed balls through 34 games behind the plate. 

Terrones recorded 23 RBIs off of 27 hits en route to a .342 batting average on the season. She also tallied nine doubles and one triple after 79 at-bats. 

Ehsya Glidewell and Marissa Hein rounded out the list of award winners after collecting Honorable Mention recognition. 

E. Glidewell led the way for the program with a .500 on-base percentage during her sophomore season. She also posted a .375 batting average while notching 31 RBIs on 33 hits. 

Hein led the defensive effort in center field and finished the season with a spotless fielding percentage mark after totaling 57 putouts and one assist on 58 chances.
