Softball's Madison Gamble Commits to Warner Pacific

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College catcher, Madison Gamble, has committed to continuing her academic and athletic career at Warner Pacific (Ore.) University next season.

"I chose Warner Pacific University because the coaching staff was incredibly kind and very welcoming. I also chose WPU because the Oregon area is extremely pretty and is somewhere that I could picture myself at for the next two years," Gamble shared. "The recruiting process with WPU was easy and accepting this opportunity means that I now get to fulfill my dream of playing softball at the next level. Playing in Oregon has been something I've always wanted to do, which made my decision that much easier."

The Ernest Righetti High School alum is nearly finished with her sophomore campaign behind the plate for the Bulldogs. She currently boasts a .351 batting average with 27 RBIs on 34 hits and has allowed just three passed balls through 29 games thus far. Last season, Gamble was tabbed as a Second Team All-Conference honoree after catching six runners attempting to steal and allowing just three passed balls through 34 games behind the plate. She closed out her freshman debut with a team-high mark of 13 doubles on 40 hits and tallied 21 RBIs en route to a .385 batting average.

"My time here at Allan Hancock has been one to remember. From my teammates to the athletic department staff and everything in between, my experience has been amazing," Gamble added. "Starting at the junior college level was probably the best decision I've made. It gave me time to grow as an individual, not only on the softball field but also in the classroom! I'm so incredibly thankful for all of the memories I've made here at Hancock and all of the friendships that I've been fortunate enough to form."

Warner Pacific, located in Portland, is a member of the NAIA and competes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
