Softball's Briana Munoz Signs with Warner Pacific

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College pitcher, Briana Munoz, has signed on to continue her academic and athletic career at Warner Pacific (Ore.) University next season.

"Attending a school located in Oregon has always been a dream of mine, which made choosing Warner Pacific an easy decision. Warner's coaching staff was also very welcoming and eager to have me there for the upcoming season," Munoz shared. "Also, they are in a rebuilding period with the program and I felt like joining the program now would be a great opportunity. I feel like the two years of experience I have at the college level allows me to be a great asset as they navigate this process."

Munoz, a local product of St. Joseph High School, completed her final season with the Bulldogs earlier this month. The two-time First Team All-Conference selection led the squad with 47 RBIs after registering 42 hits through 117 at-bats. The Guadalupe native also secured 11 wins in the circle after twirling 15 complete games and notched one save. Munoz sat down 60 opponents this season while working towards a career total of 119 strikeouts and boasts a career record of 20-17 through two seasons on the rubber.

"My two years here at Hancock have been amazing. Staying here after high school instead of going straight to the four-year level has been one of the best decisions I've made. I want to thank Coach Scia for giving me the opportunity to play here at Allan Hancock. It has been an honor being a Bulldog," Munoz added. "Our athletic staff is wonderful and is 100% supportive of the athletes! I will forever be grateful that I had the opportunity to attend a junior college. It has brought me many unforgettable memories and friendships that I will forever hold in my heart."

Warner Pacific, located in Portland, is a member of the NAIA and competes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
