Softball: Quezada Registers No-Hitter as AHC Sweep LA Valley

GLEN, Calif. - Delayna Quezada registered a no-hitter in game two of the doubleheader series between the Allan Hancock College softball program at LA Valley College on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first no-hitter on record for the program since Bailey Killough's milestone against College of the Canyons in 2018

The Bulldogs were scheduled to resume play at home on Saturday, February 3rd, against San Bernardino Valley College but the games have been postponed due to inclement weather and field conditions. Their next contest will now take place on Tuesday, February 6th, at Bakersfield College.

GAME ONE: AHC 12, LAVC 1 | BOX SCORE

Rianna Dulay put Hancock on the board early in the opener after her triple to right field drove in three runners. Riley Vannasap closed the opening frame with a single to center, which plated the awaiting Dulay. The Monarchs scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth, but AHC matched that effort in the following inning after an RBI single from Jonessa Marquez. Kaylee Dolores used a single to left field to spark a six-run rally in the final frame of the shortened game.

Dulay nearly completed the cycle in game one after recording one single, two doubles, and one triple en route to a final tally of four RBIs.

Danica Black picked up her first win of the season in the circle after a complete-game effort. She struck out seven batters and surrendered one earned run after allowing four hits.

GAME TWO: AHC 15, LAVC 0 | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs put up 15 unanswered runs in the first two innings of the nightcap. Dolores and Shayla Bautista started the scoring stint with back-to-back triples to open the game before Vannasap drove in one. Juliza Evans used a single to plate two while the final three tallies of the frame came after fielder's choice opportunities and a bases-loaded walk.

Emily Perez, Dolores, Black, and Quezada registered one RBI apiece after singles to the outfield in the second frame. The scoring frenzy ended with a double to left center by Dulay and a fielder's choice RBI by Vannasap.

Quezada twirled a complete game in the circle en route to the no-hitter milestone. She struck out four batters and walked three through the complete five inning contest.
