Softball Run Rules Twice Against Porterville

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College softball team picked up a pair of non-conference wins against Porterville College in a doubleheader at home on Friday afternoon. Hancock moves to 5-7 on the season after the victories while the Pirates slip to 1-9 overall. | GAME 1 / GAME 2

The Bulldogs opened game one with an 18-1 victory through five innings of action. Porterville got on the board with one run in the opening frame before AHC got hot. Rianna Dulay led the way with four RBIs while Jonessa Marquez, Riley Vannasap, and Hailey Pasillas posted three apiece. Delayna Quezada picked up the win in the circle with three strikeouts and one earned run after allowing six hits. 

Momentum continued for the hosts in the nightcap as AHC rattled off 13 runs through the first four innings before the Pirates posted five of their own in the final frame. Quezada had a career-high of six RBIs, followed by three from Shayla Bautista. Quezada also picked up a second win after twirling 4.2 innings. Bella Gonzalez briefly appeared in the top of the fourth, where she was charged with four earned runs and scattered two hits, but did not factor into the final decision. 

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Tuesday, February 27th, with another non-conference doubleheader. They will host Taft College at the AHC Softball Field with game one beginning at 12 PM.
