Softball Recognizes Three Sophomores in Regular Season Finale

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College softball team fell in a 3-0 decision at home on Sophomore Day against Santa Barbara City College to close out the regular season slate on Tuesday afternoon. The three sophomores that were recognized before the contest began were Shayla Bautista, Delayna Quezada, and Danica Black. | BOX SCORE

The Vaqueros (19-15, 10-4) scored early with one run in the opening frame before plating one runner apiece in both the sixth and seventh innings after RBI singles. Hailey Pasillas spoiled the no-hitter opportunity for SBCC with the lone hit for AHC (19-17, 9-5) after sending a single down the right field line in the fifth frame. 

Quezada was charged with the loss in the circle after twirling a complete game. She struck out three batters and was charged with as many earned runs after scattering 10 hits through seven innings. 

The Bulldogs close the regular season with a fourth place finish in the Western State Conference (North). Moorpark (14-0) championed the league with an unbeaten record, followed by Cuesta (11-3) and Santa Barbara (10-4).
