
Softball Falls in Season Opener, 4-1
VALLEY GLEN, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College softball team fell in the 2025 season opener on the road, 4-1, in a non-conference contest at LA Valley College on Thursday afternoon. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs (0-1) held strong defensively for most of the game, allowing just one run in three different innings before LA Valley (5-10-1) put up a two-run fifth. After being kept off the scoreboard through five innings, Hancock broke through in the sixth when Tori Salazar scored the team's lone run on a wild pitch opportunity. Jonessa Marquez, Shianne Gooley, and Isabel Sanchez joined Salazar with one hit apiece.
Havanah Michel suffered her first loss of the season in the circle after a full six-inning showing. She allowed seven hits but forced some weak contact by the hosting Monarchs after forcing four groundouts and 11 flyouts.
The Bulldogs are set to return to play on Saturday, February 22nd, with a road trip to Bakersfield College.
