Men's Team Beats Oxnard, Women Lose Close Game

    The Allan Hancock College basketball teams split Wednesday night, with the men taking a 56-47 victory over Oxnard College and the women losing by just three points, 64-67. 

    Taylor Pruett (Arroyo Grande) and Abraham Millsap (St. Thomas More Prep) each scored 14 points against the Condors. Pruett led the team in rebounds with nine and Millsap followed closely behind with eight rebounds and three steals. Jordan O'Byrne (Lompoc ) scored eight points, had seven rebounds and three steals and Andrew Douby and Jame Whitby each scored six points. 

    The Bulldogs are now 4-1 in conferenece and 17-5 overall. 

    The women's team led by more than 20 points at the half but Oxnard came back to win 67-64. Diana Hale (Righetti), Isabel Maldonado (Pioneer Valley )and Camille Zumbro (Santa Maria, CA) each scored 14 points. Tessa Underwood led the team in rebounds with eight. She also scored eight points and had two steals. Hale and Maldonado had seven and five rebounds respectively. Johnnie Watanabe (Righetti) scored seven points and had two steals and two assists. 

    Both teams are on the road against Ventura College on Saturday, January 21.
