Students, Compete for a Semester's Tuition at Coaches vs. Cancer Game
One lucky student could win an entire semester’s tuition at the second annual Coaches vs. Cancer basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 4. With the purchase of a Coaches vs. Cancer t-shirt for just \$10, students are entered into a drawing for a chance to compete for a semester’s worth of tuition, sponsored by Allan Hancock College ASBG.
The Bulldogs will be up against Los Angeles Pierce College, with the women’s game starting at 5 p.m. and the men taking to the court at 7 p.m. Students must be present at the men’s game for a chance to compete. Seven students, chosen in a drawing at halftime will attempt to make a lay-up, free throw and finally a half-court shot to claim the grand prize.
The event is a fundraiser for the Coaches vs. Cancer organization; a non-profit funded by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches and dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
Students get into the game free with a student ID and t-shirts are available for purchase at the Student Activities office, located in the Santa Maria Student Center or at the door. For more information call the athletic department at 922-6966 ext. 3227.
