Hancock Women Fall 65-54 at Moorpark

(Moorpark, CA) Ali Rodriguez scored 20 points to lead a trio of Bulldogs in double-digits, but the Allan Hancock College women's basketball team dropped a 65-54 decision at Moorpark on Saturday night. The Bulldogs fell to 2-5 in conference and 10-13 overall. Moorpark improved to 5-2 in conference and 13-9 overall.

The Hancock women trailed 33-24 at halftime despite nine points apiece from Rodriguez and Nicole De La Guerra.

Tashara Pruett and De La Guerra finished with 11 points apiece. Pruett, a Lompoc High School graduate, led the Bulldogs with nine rebounds. Rodriguez added six rebounds, three assists and two steals. She hit eight of her 15 shots from the floor and three of seven from the free throw line. Celina Calderon added eight points.

Hancock shot 46 from the field after hitting 23 of its 50 shots, including two of 13 from three-point range. The Bulldogs hit just six of 12 from the charity stripe. They pulled down 33 rebounds and dished out 12 assists.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. when second place Cuesta College rolls into Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
