Ramirez Named First Team All-Conference, Miller Received Honorable Mention

Ramirez led the Bulldogs in scoring at 16.4 points per game.

Allan Hancock College women's basketball player Syenna Ramirez has been named to the All-Conference First Team by coaches in the Western State Conference's North Division. Sophomore forward Michaila Miller received honorable mention.

Ramirez earned All-Conference First Team honors after she led the women's basketball team in scoring as a freshman. The St. Joseph High School graduate averaged 16.4 points per game. She shot 33 percent from three-point range. Ramirez averaged five rebounds, four assists and almost two steals per game. Ramirez scored 20 or more points six times this season, including a career-high 40 points against College of the Siskiyous, the fourth ranked team in the state at that time. Ramirez recorded two double-doubles as a freshman: a 22-point, 10-rebound game against College of the Desert; and a 14-point, 12-assist game against Oxnard.

Miller received honorable mention after she averaged 5.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Hancock women. The Santa Barbara High School graduate scored 13 points to help Hancock secure its first win at Moorpark in nine years.

The Hancock women finished the season 5-7 in conference and 16-11 overall. The 16 wins represent the program's highest win total in 20 years.
