
Danah Smith Tabbed as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College women's basketball head coach, Cary Nerelli, has announced the addition of Danah Smith as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
"We're thrilled to have Coach Smith joining our staff this season," shared Nerelli. "She brings a wealth of knowledge to the court and has an undeniable passion for helping student-athlete's succeed as they move on to the next level."
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Smith spent two seasons as the Associate Head Women's Basketball Coach and Victory Valley College and as a Classroom Intervention Aide at Pathways to College K8. During the 2019-20 season, Smith guided the Rams to a 16-12 showing on the season while posting an 8-4 finish in league play. The Rams placed five players on the All-Conference squad and closed the season in a three-way tie for second place in the Inland Empire. She has also made coaching stops at Barstow Community College and with the High Desert Phenoms.
Smith earned her graduate degree in Coaching & Athletic Administration from Concordia University-Irvine and holds an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Cal Poly Pomona.
The Bulldogs are set to open the 2021-22 campaign on Thursday, November 4th, at the Cosumnes River Tournament.
