Women's Basketball Thumps Oxnard on the Road

OXNARD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team pulled off a lopsided victory on the road against Oxnard College in a 76-37 victory on Wednesday evening to open the second half of conference action. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (16-7, 5-2 WSC) jumped out to an early 20-8 advantage at the end of the first frame and remained in control to the end. As a team, the visiting squad finished with a 31.2 percent showing from the floor and limited the hosting Condors (3-14, 0-8 WSC) to a 3-for-18 finish from distance. Coach Scott's squad excelled at the charity stripe, going 20-for-27 on free throw attempts, while outrebounding OC at a 46-31 margin.

India Dowling-Green led the way for Hancock with a double-double performance. The freshman tied a career-high of 15 points while also snagging 12 rebounds. Mya Mendoza and Alexandria Paquet tallied 12 points apiece after coming off of the bench while Chloe Blankenship and Giselle Calderon tacked on 11 points each. Kayla Taylor finished second for the visitors with eight rebounds, followed by Blankenship and Mendoza each pulled down seven. 

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Saturday, February 4th, at home against Cuesta College. Single-game tickets for the event, which is scheduled to begin at 3 PM inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium, can be purchased here. As per usual, the ticketing gate will be cashless and fans are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets prior to arrival, but credit/debit card purchases can be made at the gate.
