Women's Basketball Opens Season with Win at LA Harbor

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team opened the 2023-24 campaign with a 77-66 road victory at LA Harbor College on Saturday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (1-0) trailed by two at the intermission after nearly erasing an eight-point deficit from the opening quarter. Coach Smith's crew surged ahead in the third frame, outscoring Harbor by 10, before closing out the win with a 21-18 advantage in the fourth. Hancock limited the Seahawks (1-2) to a 34.7 percent finish from the floor but struggled from distance after a 4-for-20 showing. 

India Dowling-Green led all scorers on the day with 30 points after going 8-for-11 from the field and 14-for-23 from the charity stripe. The South Carolina native also tacked on seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists.

Freshman Khaelii Robertson-Mack registered a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 10-for-17 from the floor. Mallory Branum rounded out the double figure performers with 12 points, followed by Chyanna Tell and Giselle Calderon who added six apiece. Tell dished out a team-high finish of eight assists while Calderon added seven.

Hancock is set to host Chabot College in the home opener on Monday, November 6th. Single-game tickets for the event, which is scheduled to begin at 5 PM inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium, can be purchased here. As per usual, the ticketing gate will be cashless and fans are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets prior to arrival, but credit/debit card purchases can be made at the gate.
