Women's Basketball: Bulldogs Bounce Back with Win over Skyline

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team bounced back from a disappointing loss against Chabot College with a thrilling 54-51 victory over Skyline College on Thursday evening in the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (2-1) trailed by six points at the intermission but cut the deficit to one possession by the end of the third quarter. Skyline (3-1) maintained the lead throughout the final frame until Coach Smith's squad rattled off a 10-2 run through the final three minutes of action to secure the victory. 

As a team, the Trojans finished with an efficient mark of 39.7 percent from the field while the home crew worked through another shooting slump, which included a 25.6 mark from the field and a 3-for-26 (11.5%) from long distance. Hancock excelled at the charity stripe and converted 26 Skyline turnovers for 15 points on the opposite end. 

India Dowling-Green and Khaelii Robertson-Mack both registered double-double performances on the night. Dowling-Green registered a team-high mark of 18 points and nabbed 13 rebounds, while Robertston-Mack notched 13 points and 12 rebounds. Giselle Calderon followed with a career-high tally of seven steals while adding eight points. 

The Bulldogs are set to return to action with a two-day road trip to Palomar College on November 17th and 18th for the Comet Crossover. They'll face off against the hosting Comets on day one before matching up with Mt. San Jacinto on day two.
